Dog behavior expert Cesar Millan seems likes talking to a dog in an episode of 'Dog Whisperer.'

MANILA, Philippines — They say that a dog is a man’s best friend. Loyal, obedient, and loving, dogs can make for really nice pets. But not all pooches can be friendly all the time. Like their owners, they too have their temperaments and their share of attitude problems.

Thankfully, you can get a few tips on how to get cuddly with your dog from back-to-back episodes of “Dog Whisperer” every Wednesday night at 10 p.m., only on the National Geographic Channel.

“Dog Whisperer” is hosted by renowned dog behavior expert and New York Times best-selling author Cesar Millan, one of the most sought-after specialists in the field of dog rehabilitation.

Known as the” Dr. Phil for Dogs” because of his uncanny ability to rehabilitate problem dogs of all shapes and sizes, Cesar has an amazing gift for communicating with problem pooches—from timid great Danes to bullying Chihuahuas.

Each “Dog Whisperer” episode documents the remarkable transformations that take place under Cesar’s guidance and teaching, helping dogs and their owners live happier lives together.

In “Spike in the Heart, School for Shelties, Can This Marriage Be Saved?” (June 15, 10 p.m.), a wedding date is cancelled because dogs can’t get along. Cesar also works on a German Shepherd who’s so aggressive, even the German Shepherd rescue center won’t take him back; and a Sheltie who barks at everything, especially during car trips.

In “Persistent Persha, Pregnant Cosmo, TV Dog,” (June 15, 11 p.m.) Cesar works on Pasha who lashes out at people, especially children; a shepherd mix who is bent on complicating his owner’s marriage; and a Shar-pei who is highly aggressive towards TV shows, especially “Dog Whisperer.“

In “Battle for Eppie, The Lady is a Tramp, Snoopy the Snipper,” (June 22, 10 p.m.) Cesar works on a Beagle with a passion for Boogie boarding, a Dalmatian/German shepherd who is dangerously protective of her owner, and a Lab/Beagle mix that became aggressive after moving to a new area.

In “Katrina Dogs Part 2, Major Jones, Harwood Hell,” (June 22, 11 p.m.) Cesar works on dogs abandoned during Hurricane Katrina. Is a reunion with their owners in store for any of them?

In “Laker Dog, Spoiled Pom, Bad Bearz,” (June 29, 10 p.m.) Cesar comes to the rescue of Princess, a player-biting Maltese; a pampered Pomeranian who throws vicious temper tantrums; and a Rottweiler who attacks shopping carts.

In “Greta and Hoss, Won’t Eat Dog, Global Pet Finder,” (June 29, 11 p.m.) Cesar helps a young Akita control his aggression; Newfoundland who is the world’s pickiest eater; and a two-year old Shiba Inu who has a knack for bolting out open doors.
