Here is a little known, yet VERY healthy remedy for hairballs and constipation in dogs and cats.

In fact I have been advising pet owners use it for YEARS..

Recently you probably carved one up.

And probably threw it out.

Drum roll………….

Pumpkin.

I cooked ours up on Tuesday, and I have been feeding it to my 2 dogs, and cats ( although only one cat will eat it)

Pumpkin is a storehouse of many anti-oxidant vitamins such as vitamin-A, vitamin-C and vitamin-E.

With 7384 mg per 100 g, it is one of the vegetable in the cucurbitaceae family with highest levels of vitamin-A, providing about 246% of RDA. Vitamin A is a powerful natural anti-oxidant and is required by body for maintaining the integrity of skin and mucus membranes. It is also an essential vitamin for vision. Research studies suggest that natural foods rich in vitamin A helps body protect against lung and oral cavity cancers.

It is also an excellent source of many natural poly-phenolic flavonoid compoundes like alpha and beta carotenes, cryptoxanthin, lutein and zeaxanthin. Carotenes convert into vitamin A inside the body.

And to think I kept hucking it in the compost.

IF you have a pet with hairball problems, constipation, or anal gland issues, consider using this as a natural alternative.

Effective, and safe.

And nutritious.

I often find cats will take it even unflavored, and this is so much better for them than vaseline and the like for hairballs.
